Operating and recovery rooms have been designed with state of the art sanitation technology and nasocomial practices. Each is equipped with monitoring capabilities from the intensive care unit, with electrogram, nurse call button, and instant correspondence. The operating rooms and intensive care units all use recycled, purified air and have extremely low infection rates compared with US hospitals. The Clínica Medellín also maintains a state of the art blood bank and has been reviewed, certified and accredited with the Norma ISO 9001, the highest accreditation a Colombian hospital can receive. The hospital overlooks the upscale neighborhood of the Poblado, next to a beautiful area complimented with five star hotels, fine dinning and entertainment areas. Medical tourism patients will have the option of 23 rooms in the Clínica Medellín, with guest services and accommodation for overnight visitors. All rooms have Internet access and satellite cable, as well as international phone service.
