Meet Dr. Mejía

Dr. Mejía spent a year at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, where he completed a fellowship with Dr. Ralph Millard, as well as the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), and was certified by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

Extreme Makeover Reality TV
Dr. Mejía was recently featured as one of the lead plastic surgeons in the television show Cambio Extremo 2 (Extreme Makeover). In this program, Dr. Mejía was one of a team of doctors to work with patients selected by the show to receive a complete makeover, offering them a chance to remake their life and start over after extensive plastic surgery, rehabilitation, and dietary reformation.

Dr. Mejía has served as the Executive Secretary of the Colombian Society of Plastic Surgery (2002-2004), and has worked as a post-graduate instructor at a number of prestigious medical institutions where he has passed along his knowledge and acumen to the next generation of upcoming reconstructive surgeons. Furthermore, Dr. Mejía has found time to donate his services to the less fortunate, performing cleft-lip reconstruction procedures for under-privileged children.
