Dr. Javier Lopera has refined his medical expertise to specialize in plastic & cosmetic surgery of the ear, nose and throat (ENT), and has trained in Latin America, The United States, and Canada. He is fluent in English, has successfully been practicing international plastic and cosmetic surgery since 1995, and is currently a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Medical Surgical Training

Dr. Lopera spent time refining his surgical skills with the internationally acclaimed cosmetic surgeon Dr. Fernando Pedrosa in Bogotá, Colombia, after receiving a post graduate studies degree in ENT, head & neck surgery from the Universidad de Antioquia. Doctor Lopera has practiced medicine privately for 16 years, currently attends to over a thousand patients a year, and resides in Medellín with his wife and children.

Practical Experience in Toronto, Canada

Dr. Lopera excels in both the open and closed surgical techniques, which provides a dynamic ability for the medical and cosmetic requirements of his patients. Dr. Lopera refined his skills with both procedures at the medical clinic of Dr. Peter Adamson, a well renowned surgeon in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Adamson received Dr. Lopera as a fellow, which allowed Dr. Lopera exclusive and up close training from one of the most well respected cosmetic surgeons in N. America.

While maintaining a private office at the Clinica Medellín, as well as the Clinica Somer in Colombia, Dr. Lopera is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and continues to attend numerous conferences and practical training seminars in the United States, Canada, Argentina, and Brazil.
Doctor Lopera attended a conference in Boston with the American Academy of Otolaryngology and The American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery in Washington DC in September, 2007.
